No Fault Insurance Benefits for Car Accident Victims: From the Attorneys of Michigan Auto Law
Many people don’t realize that following a serious injury from a car accident in Michigan, they are entitled to medical care and several other benefits through their No-Fault auto insurance. In this video, attorney Larry Gursten, partner of Michigan Auto Law, www.michiganautolaw.com , explains all five No-Fault benefits www.michiganautolaw.com that are available for accident victims. He also covers the application process and time limits www.michiganautolaw.com for filing forms and an auto accident lawsuit. Here’s some of what Larry has to say: “I’m going to try to explain to you the No Fault law in your action against the insurance company for your benefits, and I’m going to give you knowledge and understanding to help you in collecting these benefits. The first No Fault benefit is medical bills, and I know that is a concern because everybody wants to get their doctor bills paid, their hospital bills paid. Fortunately in Michigan, this is an excellent coverage. If you have medical insurance first in your household, you have to go to that medical insurance and if they pay if it’s an automobile accident, because that you’ll also have to check on, then the medical insurance will be first. If you do not have medical insurance in the household or they say to you, We don’t pay if it’s an automobile accident, that is not a problem because then your auto insurance or the auto insurance of a relative in your household is going to pay all of your medical bills for life. MI insurance companies threaten to hike no fault insurance rates, personal injury attorneys say
The insurance industry in Michigan is threatening to raise auto insurance rates for drivers yet again. In this video, personal injury attorney Steve Gursten, head of Michigan Auto Law, exposes insurance companies for using scare tactics and empty threats — while reaping huge profits — following a change to the Michigan auto accident law that has restored the rights of many car accident and truck accident victims. Here’s what Steve has to say: “Yesterday, a really important case came down that’s going to restore the important legal rights of hundreds and potentially thousands of Michigan drivers who’ve been seriously injured in car accidents through no fault of their own ( www.michiganautolaw.com ). And this morning, on August 2, 2010, the insurance institute of Michigan put out a press release saying that this new law is going to raise insurance premiums for Michigan drivers. And I have to say, the insurance industry must think we’re really, really dumb. Because since 2004, when auto claims have been nearly halved, in the state (almost 50 percent lower) insurance rates have done nothing but gone up. And today, when the average number of miles driven by the Michigan driver is at its lowest level in 17 years, we now have the second highest insurance rates in the entire country. So I wonder, where are these savings that the insurance industry promised us back in 1995, when the Republican Legislature signed this tough new threshold law into effect that our law just returned …
